Find hidden objects before you drill

The DSF05 combines a stud finder, metal detector and live AC wire detector in one compact tool. Use it to locate wooden studs, ferrous and non-ferrous metals, and live wires behind suitable walls and wood surfaces.

Choose Exact Mode to scan to 20 mm or Deep Mode to scan to 38 mm for foreign objects. The tool can detect ferrous metals and live AC wires up to 38 mm deep, and copper up to 20 mm deep.

Clear alerts and simple calibration

A colour indicator changes from green to yellow and then red as you approach a detected object, while the audible alarm helps you pinpoint its position. The screen also shows signal strength, and you can switch the buzzer on or off with a long press of the power button.

Slide the switch to Foreign Mode and wait for the green indicator to show that automatic calibration is complete. The ergonomic, anti-slip grip is designed to feel comfortable during extended use.

Suitable surfaces and what's included

Designed for gypsum drywall, plywood sheathing, bare wood floors and coated wood walls, the scanner is not suitable for concrete, brick, tile, glass, metal surfaces or carpet. Moisture from freshly applied paint or wallpaper may affect readings, so allow surfaces to dry before scanning.

The DSF05 measures 160 × 72 × 57 mm and weighs 128 g. It requires one 9V battery, which is not included, and the pack contains the scanner, a user manual and a cloth bag.
